What is going on in Walt Disney World in October 2018?

Halloween 2018

Halloween 2018

Disney World in October is a busy month, it is Halloween and Food Festival time at the parks. October is a great month to visit any of the Disney World Parks, any month at Disney is great!! The weather is finally starting to cool off towards the end of the month, the nights will hopefully be a little cooler for you. The daily rain showers should not be a problem this month since it is usually the beginning of the dry season but if you have a  rainy day during your vacation check out all the things that will be closed at the parks during the rain or lightning. There are some fun things going on this month that you will not want to miss.

Magic Kingdom:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is happening on select dates this month. They have some shows and characters you can only meet during this yearly Halloween event. There is also a Halloween fireworks show and parade. This event starts at 6:00 on the select party dates so the Magic Kingdom will be closed only to party event ticket holders. So you will want to figure this into your plans, you might not want to schedule a Magic Kingdom day that will end that early, but the crowds are usually lighter on the event days because of the earlier park closing.

Coming to the Magic Kingdom in 2021… Tron, I know this is a long way off but they have a sign up in the area this ride will be in and they have start construction on the ride, although there is not much to see yet.  From the picture on the sign, it looks like it is going to be a motorcycle type of ride. Shanghai Disneyland has this ride so I looked it up and here is a link to what it looks like. It looks cool and I don’t even like the coasters.

The Food and Wine Festival is going on all month at Epcot. You can check out all the offerings they have during this festival at the Disney blog, there is a list of the booths and what they are offering. The Food and Wine Festival brings in a lot of people and the crowds are pretty high but most of the people are there to try the food and drinks in all the countries so sometimes the lines are not too long on the rides.

Hollywood Studios:

The Toy Story Land is still pretty new and the crowds and lines will still be long there but everyone is checking out the new area and rides, so some of the other ride waits have not been too long.
Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away is not showing this month.

Animal Kingdom:

Pandora in Animal Kingdom is still crowded and busy.
Wildlife Express and Rafiki’s Planet Watch are not open this month.

Have a Magical Month!!
